Recall of tires on the Harrison Ford

Recent news has indicated faulty tires on certain models of a movie
vehicle you may know well. Introduced on July, 14, 1942 in Chicago,
Illinois, the Harrison Ford has been a consistently popular item to
the present day. The Harrison model has been featured in such films
as The Fugitive and Regarding Henry, and, some say, has
been showcased to an extreme in Hollywood film-making.
The recall comes due to an increasing number of reports that these
vehicles can age quickly on the screen, sometimes causing serious separations.
The National Movie Safety Administration has received complaints of
the Harrison model separating, and is reviewing criteria for a recall.
The Harrison models have a lower rating for age resistance--a possible
factor in the separations--than the vehicles in virtually all similar
products made by rival directors.
Some Harrison models that have been in use for less than 60 years have
demonstrated age-related failures or separations at speeds as low as
2 movies per year, indicating a major flaw in the Harrison's basic design,
materials, manufacturing process, or quality control.
On Tuesday, a rep for the 58-year-old Star Wars and Indiana
Jones icon confirmed the Harrison's separation after 17 years of
service. A previous separation occurred in 1979 after a15 year period.
Questions have been raised as to the recent failures of the Harrion
model, indicating that poor scriptwriting in recent movies may have
been the cause.
"[The Harrison's separation] had nothing to do with that. It separated
before that," Ford's agent, Patricia McQueeney, said Tuesday, referring
to a National Enquirer photo spread that lead to the allegations.
So far, federal investigators are examining 46 shameful movies they
believe may be connected to faulty Harrisons.
