Guild Pic-a-nic
GMM [now with added DIM*] strikes again! The festivites were hot, the beer was cold, and the people came from as far as Seattle. Who says World of Warcraft isn't a social game?

His character name is "Violated." His name is Ted, and he likes Violas! Haw haw.

*GMM = Green Mountain Militia
*DIM = Dark Iron Militia
Birfday Madness.
Officially 32. Still getting carded (yay!)
The teeniest cake of them all...
(Yes, that's a Periodic Table of the Elements T-shirt)
Bought myself many, many cute mylar balloons. A little girl in the store was agog at the flock of balloons I was holding, and I told her "when you are older you can buy yourself balloons all you want!" She seemed pleased.

Hubby bought me flowers, which we have to lock in the laundry room so the cats don't eat them (boo.)
And went out for burgers. It was a good day. So I'm now 32. Not bad... not bad. Birthdays are getting better now that I'm not forced to go hog wild and celebrate until my arms fall off.
I would have reported on Penguicon 4, but it was laaaaame. The highlight was seeing DiBona again and we made a movie about Mentos + Diet Coke.

Chris DiBona expounding upon the scientific nature of our experiment.

Chris DiBona showing example of "Mento" held in "Nasa arm".

Diet Coke + Mentos = geyser.
(Not Photoshopped in any way)
I <3 [that's a heart, peeps] cute overload!
You have to admit that by having the cutest content on the web... (I'm talking to YOU Cute Overload) ...such a concentrated black hole of cuteness... no one can escape! The world will end up being sucked into the cute vortex and we will all end up cooing over kittens and puppies and hamsters! Oh. what a wonderful world!
Where is MY Doc-tare Pepp-are Manshon? WHERE IS IT?

My baby Sushi sporting a prosh Clinique hoodie.
Meg, Meg! Post this, it's cute!
The site has officially been overhauled. My attempts to learn CSS have stalled in brain-freeze land, so you better settle for HTML.
SETTLE!
YOU LOVE IT!!!!
We plan to be at Penguicon this year (April 21-23) however for some lame reason they decided to charge guests of honor (my husband, not me, I'm in free with a suh-weet 3rd place prize in the costume contest.) Our vote was swayed by the fact the one of our buds (Chris DiBona) is the main GOH. We will go. Grudgingly. And we will sit in the corner and refuse to have any fun at all. And maybe we will cry.
I got a new copy of Dreamweaver. Commence updates!
Thanks to everyone who told me to get off my butt and DO something on this site. Consder it gotten off of and DONE. I been busy... "doing what?" you may ask? My answer...
There are places to go,

And virtual kities to pet.

World of Warcraft is an addicition. Don't let anyone tell you different. I have a 60 mage and a 40 warlock (also a 19 UD priest, but she's horde so she deosn't count). Both the same little redheaded style gnome, but one has her hair up in buns. The best part is that I have a great guild and my husband plays too (although he plays HORDE on a different server. Yuck.) If you're ever on Azgalor, give a holla out to Kitarenian (my mage) or ...guess who... Sarcasta (my warlock).
I'm back! Thank god I know html... my Dreamwaever cop-out has failed me in the clean install of OSX... now if only I had the gumption to teach myself css.. this page could render cleanly in Firefox... blessed Firefox.
Why hasn't this site been updated since Halloween? I'd blame apathy... but it's too much trouble. (laughs hysterically)
I've been completely addicted to World of Warcraft lately. A friend finally got me hooked. My character name is Kitarenian, but everyone finds it easier to type "Kit"... and my new real life nickname is "Kat"... so it seems that I am doomed to be known as "KitKat" in the near future. Meh... I can think of worse nicknames... like the time one of my college friends decided that I should be called "caffiene." Sounds like a lisp to me.

And no... GMM is not a Michigan Militia thing.. it's a guild on World of Warcraft

As promised! Halloween costume pics.
I sewed it all by myself! <claps hands> I'm a *good* girl!
It was a pain to sew without a pattern, but I wanted it to fit a bit tighter than the typical Simplicity e-Bay patterns to be found. It turned out very well, regardless. Hidden zipper in the side and everything! I even added (at the last minute) a second stripe on the sleeves to bump myself up in rank from Leutenant to Commander. That'll show my husband, CmdrTaco, that he's not the ONLY one who knows how to assume fake ranks that they didn't earn! Ha HAH!
Commander Kat
(First Officer of Fort Malda... and, NO...
Rob is not Captain. Sushi is.)

I learned more about Star Trek TOS (The Orgininal Series, for those of you who were wondering) while researching and making this costume than I ever thought I'd want to. For instance, the first officer typically wears the color and insignia of his or her specialty field... in my case, Engineering. The captain always wears the green/mustard of the Command class. So, I figured since I run this house like Scotty runs the Enterprise... I should be first officer AND head engineer, right? RIGHT?!??
And yes.. that's a wig. A big one.
After being mentioned in one of Rob's reviews on Slashdot, I finally got fan mail again!
Woot! I figured this site was deady-dead-dead! Guess not! I got so much response about my Hayble articles in particular, that I have decided to do more research on the subject and expound further on the awesomeness of Haybles!
Here's one really sweet email I got (reprinted with permission):

Hey I was surfing around and I came across your hayble article. I thought I was going to die laughing! We sadly keep several hundred of these gentle beasts on our farm :( but at least we try to give them special warm clothes in the winter, and make their ultimate demise as quick and painless as possible (lots of horses do not leave much time for them to flee). Thanks for making me laugh today! :) --katie

We are currently working on a deal where she will send me pictures of her vast Hayble herd!
